Hi Julia, Thanks for listening to the show! I still have the Motobecane. I am really happy with that bike and the overall experience I had with Bikes Direct. I highly recommend them. The Motobecane will be my every day training bike, and the Cervelo is the bike I will race on.

Take Care,

Hey Jake,
I really like the podcast. One question---I heard you talk about a new Cervello today on the show. I'm wondering what happened to the bike you got online from bikesdirect just a year or two ago.
Keep up the good work--and thanks!

Hey Keith, thanks for the suggestion. I did end up getting a Bento Box for the bike. It worked great during my 70.3 for holding my perpetuem solids. I have this nifty cycling app that I just discovered called BikeBrain. It uses the iphone just like a cycling computer giving real time speed, distance and mapping data. It's pretty cool, but I need to get a mount to put the phone where I can see it. Thanks for listening to the show!

Re your phone on the bike. There is a product called "Bento Box" that fits on the top tube that works great for phone, gels, etc and does not interfere with riding. Put the phone and $ in a ziplock bag. Great podcast, and keeps me company on my daily runs. From Georgetown (near Austin) TX

Royce, Thank you so much for the very kind comment. I really appreciate it. That sounds like it was a sufferfest for sure in the heat and humidity. Thanks for taking me along.

Jake: I really enjoy your podcasts, but I particularly enjoyed your interview with Coach Brett. Both of your podcasts are my favorites, and I very much liked hearing both of you on the same podcast. I was running a 16 mile run and the temperature was in the 90's and the humidity was equally as high - coincidentally you were talking about "suffering" and, believe me, I certainly felt like I was suffering during that run. I enjoyed myself, being out and participating in an activity that I truly enjoy, but the heat and humidity certainly made it feel like "suffering!"

I have picked up so much usable information and advice from your podcasts during the last year and have incorporated much of your advice into my nutrition and running. Keep up the great work - i look forward to each one.

Jake,
While I was mowing and weedeating this afternoon I listened to episode #39 - the interview with the Iron Girl from Caratunk - it was very inspiring and AWESOME. I cannot believe some of the things she did to get prepared. Thanks for the continued excellence on the podcasts. I love them. Have a GREAT fall training cycle.
